Tangerine Tango, a reddish-orange hue, is Pantone’s 2012 Color of the Year.  “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®.  This high-impact shade adds bold spice and dynamic energy to any room.

Combining old world craftsmanship with luxurious modern design, The Heritage Timber Collection is suitable for interior commercial, retail and residential flooring, ceiling and wall panel applications. The European white oak planks are 7-7/16″ wide, but have a random width appearance due to the antique surface quality.  As with all DuChateau Floors, The Heritage Timber Edition utilizes an environmentally friendly hard wax oil finish.

DuChateau Floors is featured in a custom white color on the walls and Vernal Antique White on the floors of The Modern Honolulu by Yabu Pushelberg.  The project was honored with Interior Design Magazine’s “Best of Year Awards 2011″ in the Hospitality: Hotel: Large category.

The hotel describes the design concept as “Polished interiors meet laid-back surf culture, white-washed walls intersect dark oak floors, young and hip vacationers mingle with sophisticated, savvy corporate travelers.  The result is an Urban Resort in Honolulu, that boasts sophistication and style with a laid back twist.”

Fun Fact:  President and Mrs. Obama dined at Morimoto Waikiki (within The Modern Honolulu) last Friday.

Our partners in Mexico sent us these amazing photos from a recent installation at Tori Tori, a Japanese restaurant in Mexico City.  DuChateau Floors Terra Collection in Zimbabwe is featured throughout the restaurant.  The project was honored with Interior Design Magazine’s “Best of Year Awards 2011″ in the Hospitality – Fine Dining category.

Rojkind Arquitectos and Esrawe Studio teamed up to design a range of open spaces, including terraces, sake bar, and an exclusive temple designated for the most ardent sushi lovers.  Inspired by a strong relationship between the interior and exterior landscape, the design team created an organic ivy-like façade and a vegetation wall within the dining space.
